Lost In the Wilderness

Somewhere deep within there is this vacuum
Somewhere deep inside does the heart beat fast
Somewhere deep down there is someone
Somewhere somewhere a personal love lost..?

Somewhere someone seems like knocking at the door
Somewhere something comes falling on the floor
Somewhere some little action comes tumbling
Somewhere it’s one’s lost love fumbling..?/

Somewhere when you felt the whole world was yours..
Somewhere when you dealt with all the problems big or small
Somewhere when you realized that all that was false
Somewhere it’s that lost love and you feel you hear the call??

Somewhere soon there will be two hearts a-fluttering…
Somewhere fortune will smile on two souls smiling
Somewhere when all the world would be peacefully sleeping…
Somewhere a lost love would have its flames simmering…

    1. Entirely my pleasure. From today I start a trend of asking for a topic to write a poem on. You ask, I write a poem. Give a topic to write on Sire!

      1. That’s an interesting question. Many might opt for love or friendship or losing in love etc as general topics of interest. I would like to request a somewhat different topic such as “being surrounded by people in the crowd and yet one finding oneself to be alone and disconnected in that new or changed environment.” To illustrate further, e.g. the feelings of an NRI visiting Mumbai or like city after a long time (25-30 years), who is finding that everything (culture, moral values, place, people, attitudes etc) has apparently changed from the old image frozen and set in his mind. Who knows, this may be a well explored territory. Thought I should suggest it to you. Thanks a lot for asking. I think it’s a great initiative.

        Best,

      2. After sending the topic below (i.e. “being surrounded by people in the crowd and yet one finding oneself to be alone and disconnected in that new or changed environment”),
it occurred to me that I was inadvertently attempting to capture the same sentiments expressed in this line “याद तू आए, मन हो जाए, भीड़ के बीच अकेला” – written by Neeraj, long time ago, from the famous song “फूलों के रंग से, दिल की कलम से” in Dev Anand’s classic movie “Prem Pujari”. Although, this request is in a rather different context of nostalgia, a personal yearning or a deep seated longing for the place or time period associated with one’s happy memories from distant past. Thought I should share this as a possible origin of the topic selected. Thanks.

      3. So I have to write on “being surrounded by people in the crowd and yet one finding oneself to be alone and disconnected in that new or changed environment……???
